Plan I- Thesis Option

M.S Required Steps Description Required Form(s) Deadline
Advancement to Candidacy List all courses taken that are relevant to your degree Application for Candidacy for M.S. in the field of Mechanical Engineering Deadlines are posted in the Schedule of Classes online and are posted every quarter
Final Defense Preparation Schedule the date of your final defense with your committee members and reserve a room Submit the title and abstract for your thesis announcement to Graduate Assistant via email Abstract and Title must be submitted no later than 9 days prior to your defense
Defense Result Report the results of your thesis defense Report on Final Defense for Master’s Degree Submit to Graduate Assistant as soon as possible after your defense
Thesis Draft Rough Draft on Final Thesis n/a One week before the final draft is due. (check Graduate Division Calendar for specific date)
Thesis Final Draft Final draft of M.S. dissertation Acceptance & Deposit form, ProQuest Publication Agreement, 2 optional surveys On or before the last day of the quarter.(check Graduate Division Calendar for specific date)

Result of Comprehensive Exam Results will be available about 1-2 weeks after the exam. Offered in Spring and Summer None Results are sent by department to Graduate Division 2 weeks after the exam
