Admission Application
Questions? Click here to contact us.
Before you apply, we encourage you to
familiarize yourself with the Mechanical Engineering Department.
Our website is a good place to start.
We have also made the
Grad Orientation
available online. We also encourage you to use our online Contact Us form to express interest.
This form goes only to the Mechanical Engineering Department and
allows us to consider your interests and qualifications before we
receive the official Graduate Admissions Application (which usually takes
longer to complete).
The Graduate Admissions Application is only
available online. Please complete the entire application and press the submit button when you have completed the form. In order to complete the application and have the Graduate Admissions Committee review your file, you must also mail the following Supplemental Forms
http://www.graddiv.ucr.edu/Admiss/SuppForms.html:
- $60 Application Processing Fee (for US citizens and permanent residents this fee will be paid by the College of Engineering)
- Disclaimer, Signature and Fee Payment Form
- Applicant Statement of Purpose
- Supplementary Fellowship Information
- Official GRE sent directly from ETS (Scores cannot be older than 5 years)
- 3 Letters of Recommendation
- Official Transcripts
- International Student Confidential Financial Statement (International Applicants Only)
- TOEFL (International Applicants Only - Scores cannot be older than 2 years)
Detailed information about the required Supplementary Forms can be found at the Graduate Admissions Requirements webpage
http://www.graddiv.ucr.edu/Admiss/DomAdmissReq.html
Please submit the missing items as soon as possible, so that we can make a decision on your file. Admission decisions cannot be made until all required documentation is received.
Admissions with financial support will begin to be processed January 5,
2008. However, we will continue to review applications and admit students throughout
the academic year. Since the number of students we can admit every year is limited, we
encourage all applicants to submit their application materials as soon as possible.
We would also appreciate if you inform us via e-mail (me-gradprogram@engr.ucr.edu) when
you submit your online application. This will allow us to establish contact with you and
ensure all your documents are processed in a timely manner.
International Applicants may obtain more detailed information on application requirements at
http://www.graddiv.ucr.edu/Admiss/ForAdmissReq.html.
